Uses

Explore our toolbox, a somewhat curated collection of tools, apps, hardware, and more that power our daily work at SkyFaze. We leverage cutting-edge technology to design and develop high-performance websites that push creative boundaries. And yes, that Johnny Mnemonic GIF in the background is our tribute to innovation.

Design

  • Photoshop and Illustrator, along with hand-drawn sketches, are our primary tools for UI design. We move straight from our creative process into development.
  • Any motion graphics we create are produced in Adobe After Effects. So far, we haven’t found a non-Adobe product that matches its quality. If anyone has suggestions, please message us.
  • For custom 3D models, particles, and other creations, we rely on Maya. For rendering cinematics, added FX, and more, we use Unreal Engine. With years of experience in both, we've even built our cartoon channel, Timontoons, which has nearly a million followers on TikTok.

Animation

  • Unreal Engine is our go-to for real-time rendering in animation projects. Its performance and flexibility set the standard for our work.
  • When it comes to tracking and VFX, we rely on Cinema 4D for its powerful tracking tools and seamless integration.
  • For polishing the final product, nothing beats DaVinci Resolve. If you know of any other standout tools, please contact us.

Development

  • We use Visual Studio Code as our text editor, featuring the Atom One Dark theme and Operator Mono as our typeface of choice.
  • Firefox is our main browser for both development and general use.
  • React is our front-end JavaScript library of choice. Its component-centric model perfectly aligns with our design and development process.
  • For 3D effects and image shaders, we use three.js. Although it comes with a learning curve, it empowers us to create dynamic and powerful visuals.
  • When it comes to CSS, we’ve experimented with various preprocessors and CSS-in-JS solutions like styled-components, but these days we’re embracing vanilla CSS with PostCSS to harness emerging CSS features.
  • For JavaScript animations, we leverage Framer Motion, which is excellent for adding dynamic, spring-based animations to our React and three.js projects.
